So Jerry Yang’s salary is a dollar huh? Too much! I mean what was the point? What was Yahoo’s point to bringing back a founder that was known more for the tech side of the business than the business side of the business? Now you are going to see a blood letting on August 1st, the day of the shareholders meeting where Carl Icahn is submitting his own slate.
But let us talk about the paltry sum of $1 in salary, Mr. Yang is still a multi-billionaire who owns 3.9% of Yahoo and will still walk away (again) a rich man. In the meantime his shareholders are feeling worse then the Pope that got poisoned and I am supposed to feel good about the $1 salary? That’s the biggest scam in accounting since back-dating! Pay yourself a dollar so you pay no Federal taxes, take options and bonuses instead which are taxed much more favorably to both the giver and the receiver. I mean Christ, start a foundation why don’t you? Or maybe Bill and Melinda are still accepting donations.
The point to my rant on Mr. Yang is this; he was not the man for the job…Donald Trump could have been the man for the job, Jack Welch could have been the man for the job, Carly Fiorina would have been great.
Know Why?
Because Yahoo needs a mouth piece, someone to get out there and make some waves. Someone that can sell the program to the employees and the stockholders and the valley. I watch CNBC ALL DAY everyday and I have swore I heard a mouse fart before I heard anything come out of Jerry Yang’s head…not even an effing sneeze from this guy. But the sun is setting on Yahoo and Mr. Yang should make sure to keep very little in the way of personal belongings in the office….it gets awkward when security has to wait for you to pack your crap and get out!
