Listing to Sarah Palin tell me that the U.S. could be forced into war against Russia while defending NATO allies is the dumbest thing I have heard this summer. I mean, I know how alliances work, I know how World War I started. This interview was amateurish, its backyard politics with my neighbor, except my neighbor is about 3000 people away in the presidential line of succession and Sarah Palin is a 72 year old’s heartbeat away.
The Carrot or the Stick?
On one side, the Republicans are throwing the “mutually assured destruction” doctrine right out the window while Mr. Obama wants to open up lines of communication with anyone who has a quarter and a payphone. Somewhere between these two policies lies the answer to getting the United States back in good standing with the rest of the world. Which, let’s face it, is something we should be looking to do.
Can the Republicans be thinking having Mrs.Palin talk this way makes me feel better about her? Well, it didn’t and I also didn’t appreciate the saber-rattling, which is something we don’t need from our candidates considering the current temperature between Washington and Moscow.

Senator Clinton and Governor Palin are proof that women can and do diverge on important issues.
Even on the question of whether women should vote!
Most people are totally in the dark about HOW the suffragettes won votes for women, and what life was REALLY like for women before they did.
Suffragettes were opposed by many women who were what was known as ‘anti.’
The most influential ‘anti’ lived in the White House. First Lady Edith Wilson was a Washington widow who married President Wilson in 1915, after the death of his pro-suffrage wife.
The First Lady’s role in Wilson’s decision to jail and torture Alice Paul and hundreds of other suffragettes will never be fully known, but she was outraged that these women picketed her husband’s White House.
I’d like to share a women’s history learning opportunity…
“The Privilege of Voting” is a new free e-mail series that follows eight great women from 1912 - 1920 to reveal ALL that happened to set the stage for women to win the vote.
It’s a real-life soap opera about the suffragettes! And it’s ALL true!
Powerful suffragettes Alice Paul and Emmeline Pankhurst are featured, along with TWO gorgeous presidential mistresses, First Lady Edith Wilson, Edith Wharton, Isadora Duncan and Alice Roosevelt.
There are tons of heartache on the rocky road to the ballot box, but in the end, women WIN!
Thanks to the success of the suffragettes, women have voices and choices!
Exciting, sequential episodes are great to read on coffeebreaks, or anytime.

Hi Robert,
Thanks - coming from you - I am flattered! I’m in total agreement with you about news reporting of the financial market.
I absolutely hate it when I see the news anchors smiling when the market is up. It makes it so clear that they are cheerleaders, not analysts. In two words, ‘irrational exhuberance.”
Thank God for the internet.
Don’t you think Benjamin Franklin would be pleased?
Thanks for posting info about my soap opera about the suffragettes..
Your mom subscribed!
Best to you! By the way, we are neighbors. I am in Philly, too.
Sincerely,
Virginia Harris

All I have to say is…go hackers! http://www.itworld.com/internet/55129/palins-yahoo-mail-reportedly-published-wikileaks
@ Drea- Didn’t take long for them to take down that page! Why would she think anything she did on a Yahoo email was safe? That’s what we want in a leader!
