Proposition 8: Did You Donate? Cause Your Boss Knows!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back online. I am sure many of you are familiar with Proposition 8 out in California. That’s the sticky little bill that was voted on in last week’s election to ban same sex marriage. Well, somehow the list of donors both for and against California Proposition 8 has made its way online. You can find them listed along with the amounts here. Now, I for one don’t care who marries who. Call it Northeast liberal biased but in this day and age if you fall in love, God bless! But let’s be honest that’s only part of the issue; partner rights, health care, kids, all come into play when Prop 8 comes up.

But back to the topic

I imagine most people that donate to campaigns or causes realize their information is going to be made available somewhere and for the most part they are alright with that. But I wonder how many people understand that whatever they do online is there for good! So if you drunk donated or donated in someone’s name, then that name is out there for all the world to see, including your current and future employer.

Is that what you intended when you hit pay now on the PayPal button? If not, too fucking bad, shit’s out of the goose my man. You own your shit now and you better be prepared to defend it, because you just may have to.  So, if you thought you would throw a c-note towards Proposition 8, you can probably find your name planted firmly on Google’s front page. Happy job hunting!

Since when that we actually have total privacy? There no such thing anymore. Back to the main issue, Prop 8, will add salt to existing social problem and this time with capital F.
