Who Will…Scratch that, Who Can Replace Tim Russert?

It was a lazy, hazy Summer Sunday in Philadelphia yesterday. A perfect day to tune in and watch Tim Russert on Meet the….God dammit! WTF am I going to do now? Brian Williams is effing Frankenstein’s monster if ever there was one. The no upper lip movement, the monotone delivery, the HUGE effing forehead. I want to run screaming into the night!

Now, I don’t want to get off on a rant here, but it’s time to have the conversation. It’s time to actively debate who is going to lead the politarazzi into election season. I know this is a business news blog, so I will tie this together nicely as follows; THIS IS JEFF ZUCKER’S CAREER MOVE! That’s right boys and girls. Zuck got a free pass on the Katie Couric abortion but it won’t happen again. Bob Wright and Jeff Immelt won’t stand for another casting error by the former wunderkind….There, now back to my rant.

And The Winner Is…

*Well, we don’t have one yet, but let’s kick around the names of the potential nominees;

Brian Williams-Again, just put on the old Indian test pattern from the 50’s to achieve the same desired effect…at least you won’t have to pay anyone!

Chris Matthews-Already has a job and is pretty good at it. His show WILL replace “Meet The Press” as the de facto political show to see and be seen.

Tom Brokaw-Too old and outdated. Tom is well past his “Sell By” date

Katie Couric-I will literally throw my effing TV out the window and start listening to NPR.

And now my useless pick as the new host of “Meet The Press”

Joe Scarborough-That’s right, I think Joe would be the best person to fill the shoes of Mr. Russert, if for no other reason than he reminds me of a younger Tim. But what the hell do I know? I am just some hack blogger espousing who he would rather not have vs. have. Besides, my Sundays are booked with the “Let’s Go Show” on Sprout!

*Update: Seems as if they have settled on Tom Brokaw through the election. Told you, what the hell do I know!
